Team Event: Cold Pursuit Special Stage 2

Fisher:

Alright, and we’re back for another stage of Cold Pursuit!

Hazel:

Following Stage 1, our racers are starting in order of fastest to slowest times from the last race.

Fisher:

Yes, but they did earn Season Points, so that standings board is accurate. Kickin Assphalt has pulled ahead!

Hazel:

Let’s see how it looks after today!

EVENT RULES

• AS ALL THINGS SHOULD BE: This is a mixed spec race. Racers use the stats for GT4, GT5 BOP, and GT6 BOP. Or R4, R5, and R6.
• HEATED WHEELS: All racers go FLAT OUT each turn but gain no Focus. Course trajectory is laid out after the roll is made, and caution results are still observed.
• NON-ALCOHOLIC: This race is for fun and not meant to be too serious. Rules judgement and enforcement is relaxed accordingly. 
• OFF TRACK: We’re using DIRT rules (and damage tokens) instead of GT and Staged Racing priority.
• SEASONED FRIES: This event is worth Season Points, based on placement at the end of the race.

3. Race Ventura (Purple) – Avril ‘Bombardment’ Lawson in the purple Ford Escort MkII (R4)
4. Van Hailin’ (Orange) – Abraham ‘Annex’ Perkins in the orange Toyota Celica TwinCam Turbo (R5)
5. Not Fast But Furious (Red) – Frederick ‘Blowhard’ William in the red Fiat 131 Abarth (R4)
6. Pumped Up Kits (Green) – Will ‘the Viper’ Pace in the green MG Metro 6R4 (R5)

HAYFORD HEIGHTS – RALLY 1: SPECIAL STAGE 2 (GRAVEL – DRY)

Round 1

Fisher:

Alva Sullivan starting us off in his Ford Fiesta WRC. There are some straightaways, and if he can get to Gear 6 in those, he could take this stage as well.

Hazel:

Yeah, but as leader he has to contend with those treacherous Leader dice, and is he seasoned enough to adjust for those?

Round 2

Fisher:

Either he needs to adapt, or Daryl ‘Merciless’ Hill in his Toyota Yaris WRC will have to. The cars are otherwise matched, and right now Merciless is just following the same pattern.

Round 3

Hazel:

Well, Alva wasn’t quite able to get i to 6th, but Merciless did deviate for that second turn and chose a straighter line instead of drifting, so there’s that.

Fisher:

And we see Avril ‘Bombardment’ Lawson’s Ford Escort MkII hit the gravel, and she was able to get an extra space outta her first turn!

Round 4

Hazel:

Merciless is really catching up to Sullivan! If he’s not careful, he’ll take those Leader dice and their penalties.

Fisher:

He probably wouldn’t want those, and this race is about Best time, not first over the line, so as long as he can keep finishing in higher gears he has this.

Hazel:

Bombardment purts her Ford in the spot previously occupied by Merciless, so we’ll have to see how it shakes out, with the disparity between those two.

Fisher:

We also have Abraham ‘Annex’ Perkins taking to the track with his Toyota Celica TwinCam Turbo and making some interesting choices.

Hazel:

Huh, also interesting is that we currently have two Fords and two Toyotas on the track.

Fisher:

And none of them trucks! Ooooh, a truck rally would be fun!

Round 5

Hazel:

Alva sliding into that drift, very slick. I don’t feel like we’ve seen a lot of sliding.

Fisher:

I don’t think so either, but he’s gonna need to do everything he can with Merciless on his rear bumper like that.

Hazel:

Bombardment and Annex both make good progress as well, with Annex taking the direct route and Bombardment really pushing that distance.

Fisher:

And then we have Frederick ‘Boowhard’ William in that Fiat 132 Abarth with what looks like the strongest first turn. It’s really gonna be hard to tell who’s getting all the points until the clocks are checked.

Round 6

Hazel:

Sullivan is first over the line, and takes those Leader dice off the map with him.

Fisher:

Merciless, Annex, AND Blowhard push themselves and maintain the same speed they started the turn in. Dang!

Hazel:

And we see Bombardment use Sullivan l’s sliding technique. It’s really heating up!

Fisher:

And last but certainly not least, Will ‘the Viper’ Pace has joined us in his MG Metro 6R4. This means all the racers are past the starting gate!

Hazel:

Why does it sound like you’re about to break us out to commerical?

Fisher!

Round 7

Hazel:

Rude. But we’re back with a bang! Merciless Hill crosses the finish line and Bombardment squeaks by as well!

Fisher:

Blowhard and the Viper are cleaning up, bringing up the rear while Annex starts winding down.

Round 8

Hazel:

Annex takes his place along the clock-watchers.

Fisher:

Blowhard and the Viper have been keeping their cars in top gear turn after turn, so it’s still anyone’s stage!
